Just a Tiny Review...

I have been lucky enough to have been given some fabulous items to take a peak at, and with the holidays, I've fallen behind! So today I decided enough was enough, I can't keep these to myself anymore, and I wanted to share just a little of what I liked with you! Believe me there is more!


Annyka Bekkers, BlowPop Skins, sent me over some of her skins a while back and I really, really, like the make up on these skins. There are three jewelled eye shadows with several lip colors and skin tones. Shown above are three of my favorites the Mellie2 in Honey emerald with clear gloss, Mellie2 in Honey amethyst with satin blush gloss and Mellie2 in Honey sapphire with precious rose gloss. But Wait! Lets not forget the rest of my ensemble, I am all decked out here in Eolande Elvehjem's Petite Snowflake Accessories, both the petite necklace and the choker, and the earrings and bracelet. These are very delicate and are a great choice to dress up a gown during the winter months. Accessories by Eolande SLURL.

The delightful teal party dress is from Pin Upshaw, and was given to me as a gift by a very dear friend. I had to show it off. If you haven't seen Pin's work and love retro and classy designs, she is one I recommend. Simple yet elegant. Pin Up Dolls Boutique SLURL.

We'd never want to forget the shoes! AS IF!!! These cuties are from Rowan Carroll of She's So Unusual Shoes, the Black Cool Crystal Heels. Rowan has such unique designs...I mean she has a heel with a monkey caged??? It's always fun to see what she will come up with next.

Jeans, a major fashion statement!
Torn, trashed, worn out, blue, black, pink… Jeans or otherwise known as denim is very much part of history of fashion. In the eighteenth century as trade, slave labour, and cotton plantations increased, workers wore jean cloth because the material was very strong and it did not wear out easily. During 19th century California gold rush, the miners wanted clothes that did not tear easily. 1853, Leob (later changed his name to Levi) Strauss started a wholesale business, supplying clothes. The 1930's was about westerns… Cowboys became very popular, so did jeans. After the 1940's war, rival companies like Wrangler and Lee, began to compete with Levi. In the 1950's, denim became popular with the young people. It was the symbol of the teenage rebel. 1960-70's was about the hippies and the cold war. Different styles of jeans were made, to match the 60's fashions: embroidered jeans, painted jeans, psychedelic jeans... In the 1980's jeans turned into high fashion clothing. Famous designers started making their own styles of jeans, with their own labels on them. Thus the sales of jeans soared. 90’s came with different finishes, new cuts, shapes, styles, or in the form of aged, authentic, vintage jeans. They were discovered in markets and not in conventional jeans stores. 21st Century is now about reinventing it! Yes, something decidedly interesting is happening in the world of denim now. Jeans are back on designers catwalks, at Armani, Chanel, Dior, Chloé and Versace; Callie Cline, FNKY, Kiana Dulce… Now feathered, beaded, decorated, beat-up, thrashed… Denim is definitely making another major fashion statement!

People change clothes very often in SL. Some people (like me) change clothes several times a day. So, here's another outfit perfect to wear around SL.
Vette's Boutique is a shop I discover some time ago with beautiful outfits. Since I have been really busy in SL, I have forgotten about this outfit until today when I was looking for something to wear. Because is cool, I am wearing *Sheer* Nylons Shiny Black and for my feet I choose ankle boots from Armidi. The hair with the hat is a recent release from PushButton Industries. The skin is also a recent released from Tete a Pied.

warm and cozy

I like to wear comfortable clothes (RL/SL). This is a simples outfit to wear around the grid while you do your last minute Christmas shopping.
The skin is from the new S4 from Tuli. I choose the new makeup Intrigue 3 which has green eye shadow. The hair is from Hiccup and I coloured the band to black. The outfit itself is from Petit Ange - a cute store with very appealing stuff. The boots are from Shinny Things and the leggings from Corduroy.

Just in Time for Christmas...

If you are like me you have some people on your Christmas list that are impossible to find a gift for. I know for all my women friends I can't even think of purchasing any clothes for them because they probably already have it!

Gift cards/certificates are a great idea, but seem a little impersonal at times. So that is why I'm so excited to show you the amazing creation that Sue Stonebender has whipped up just in time for Christmas.

Let me introduce you to the Pere Noel Christmas Clock! This beautiful clock has changing colors, faces, hands and so much more.

I'm not even joking when I say the options for this gorgeous grandfather clock are endless. The clock can have 3 different outside and interior wood finishes along with 7 different faces!

The clock is super easy to use with a menu that appears when you click anywhere on the clock. You can choose to use the seasonal theme or the Christmas theme, which has 6 different face options!

I just couldn't' stop taking pics of this clock, and was having a heck of a time deciding what room to put it in at my house...I loved it too much in each place I put it! I have shown it here with the , the seasonal face/wood finish, the green holly/green wood finish and with the Santa face/red wood finish. But those are just a few of the styles you can choose!


The clock is only 38 prims and has fully adjustable timezones, ticking and chime options and the option to turn off the second hand if desired. The owner can also assign guest permissions.

The hand drawn and painted face options happen to be my favorite option of the clock. Of course my heart melts for the Santa face, but the other 6 faces are simple yet elegant and match the style of the clock perfectly. I'd also like to call attention to the spinning mural that peaks through the top of the clock. It is simply gorgeous.

I have shown some close ups of the face of the clock, but only 4 of the options. There happens to be 3 more face variations which all include the same starry image as the blue, green, and red shown here, but with slightly different colors.

So for a classy, original, and beautiful gift for the people on your list take a look at the Pere Noel clock. I would also think that this clock would make a great wedding gift!

Shiny Things - Chunky Ribbon Boots

When I saw the announcement for Shiny Things' Ribbon Boots, I dashed to grab a demo but was kind of torn when I saw them on. I loved the laces and the ability to change colors with a HUD, but the boots themselves were more of a like than a love. I stashed the demo in my "stuff I like" folder and forgot about them. Until now. The Chunky Ribbon Boots are everything I was hoping for when I tried the first version on. There isn't a ton of difference between them really, but I just like the shape so much more.

First the important details: these boots come in black, blue, white and pink (500L each color, only sold singly) and each set has a range of calf sizes to make fitting any size avatar easy. Also, each comes with a Basics HUD that gives you six color choices for the boot laces, which can even be different on each boot if you wish. Additional HUDs cost 100L for either Deeps or Mediums (my favorite are the Deeps) and each contains an additional 15 laces colors. My first thought was that all I needed was the default HUD but I've changed my mind after playing with the extra laces colors. They're really pretty and add an extra bit of detail to an outfit. I have noticed that sometimes the laces return to black after a crash, so you might want to doublecheck your laces when you log in. I should also mention that these boots are sculpties, so you'll see occasional black blobs on your feet when rezzing in a laggy sim. Good news is that these beauties won't contribute much to that lag, weighing in at a trim 50 prims per foot (vs 135 each for another Shiny Things classic, the Old Laceup Boots).

As one might expect, black seems to be the most popular color choice I've seen in my wanderings this week but the other colors are also lovely and I think we'll see more people wearing them as the seasons change. I'd like to put in my request for a dark red/oxblood color please!

I put the blue boots together with pants and jacket from artilleri and really liked the effect when I used the Deeps HUD to change the color of the laces to match my scarf and gloves. And yes, I went looking for a train station just so I could use the Vintage Traveler's Suitcase from Argyle. The detailing on this piece is very nice and at 50L it's a neat thing to have for picture taking (it also comes with a second suitcase without the sit pose).

I took a closeup picture of the boots, but I'll skip showing it. Everyone knows how good the detailing is on anything that comes from Shiny Things and these boots are no exception. The only thing close to a criticism I can think of is that there aren't more gorgeous colors to drool over. Did I mention that I want red ones? Dark red, mmm.

The Chunky Ribbon Boots go with a huge range of looks and are destined to be a staple in many a fashionista's wardrobe. Kudos to Fallingwater Cellardoor for creating another classic!

Priestly Vestments from Amerie's Naughty

This season has seen so many great coats in SL fashion. I have my fair share of them, and thought I had enough. If I had a coat closet in SL, it would be jammed full, you know? But when I saw this offering from Amerie's Naughty I knew I could cram in just one more. Besides, this one has some interesting detailing that sets it apart from all my other coats (I can justify *anything* when it comes to shopping in SL). This is the scrumptious Priestly Vestments coat, and it comes in either black for 200L or red for 230L.

The coat itself only comes on the jacket layer, but the designer has included different options for the prim attachments: skirt & belt together, belt alone or skirt alone. Nice for mixing with other outfits, and I also found it much easier to fit the skirt prim on its own than with the attached belt. I should mention that this coat is made for narrow people. I ended up wearing my system skirt shape rather than do extensive prim twiddling, so if your avatar is not rail thin be forewarned. If you're in a hurry leave off the skirt entirely and you'll have a smart jacket that goes well with jeans or leather pants.

As I mentioned earlier, the detailing on this coat is very well done, and unusual. Look closely at the lace edging along the bottom hem - it's made up of butterflies, to tie in with the butterfly attached to the back of the coat. (You can also see some of the great detail on the LunaViola scroll boots from PixelDolls, though I couldn't capture the tiny stitches. The invisiprims aren't as obtrusive inworld as they showed up in this picture, either). The texturing on the belt buckle and wrist laces seems somewhat crude compared to the details elsewhere, but that's the only criticism I have for this piece (it's mod, so those bits could be retextured if I ever get around to it).

I can't get inworld to take pictures, but there are lots of other items at Amerie's Naughty that caught my eye. I was particularly taken with a short skirt that I'm sure will show up in future blog posts. Go check this store out, you'll be glad you did! (and don't forget the dollarbie shorts on a back wall - so cute!).

Snow Queen

I have a lot of gowns. Don't wear them often because I don't attend much SL events that require a gown. (The truth is I don't attend a lot of SL events because of my timezone and because I manage to ruin my cogHUD to remind in-world of the events...)
The beauty of this gown caught my eye. It is really a gown for a snow queen. The gown is from Nicky Ree and you can find it here.
